Hotel Lisa Guest House is located at an organic farm just 30 min. north of San Salvador, close to the main road towards Honduras (Troncal del Norte)

The rooms and surrounding facilities are made out of local materials such as wood, adobe, and ceramic roof tiles, in order for the visitor to get the feel of a rural, typical farm home.

Large private rooms with double beds, and bunk beds for the children, with A/C , ceiling fan, TV and private bath costs US$ 25.-  for two people. Each additional person costs $10.-

Children younger than 12 years counts as ½ person ad pays $5.- each.

The shared rooms have private baths and cost US$5.-per person. (4-5 persons per room)

We also offer camping, with your own tent or you can use ours (which is for 2 persons)

If you take us of our camping ground you have a right to use the bathroom and shower as well as the common area of the hotel.

The cost per person for camping is $3.50 if you use your own tent and $4.- per person if you use our tent.

The hotel is surrounded by gardens and the forest and hills at the organic farm are perfect for hiking and observing a vast variety of wild birds, mammals and reptiles. 

At Finca “Las Termopilas” we grow a variety of organic fruits and vegetables, so this is a chance to learn about organic tropical agriculture. We produce our own coffee and honey and you are also invited to observe the process.

     

 

The General Tour takes you around at the different areas of the farm and we explain you the varieties we grow here as well general info on organic tropical agriculture.

The cost per person varies according to how many persons are in the group.

From 1-5 persons:  $5. - per person.

From 5-10 persons:  $3. - per person.

 

The Honey Tour is a general introduction of apiculture (beekeeping) and is given by a professional beekeeper, in Spanish. If you need translation to English an extra $15.- per group is added. 

The duration is approximately 1 hour and the participants get to use special outfits to protect them from the bees.

The cost is $5.- per person with a minimum of 3 persons (if less people then you pay $15 split between the participants.)

An extra 13% income tax and 5% tourism tax will be added to these prices.

Prior reservation for lodging and services is required.

Archaeology

If you are interested in archaeology the largest archaeological site in El Salvador “Cihuatán” is just 30 min. away. Cihuatán was the largest city in Mesoamerica at the time of the Toltec. The archaeological sites of Joya de Ceren and San Andrés are along the highway to Santa Ana just some 45 minutes with public transport from Lisa Guest House. We can provide information about these sites and how to visit them.

 

Hikes and horse back rides

Cerro de Guazapa is an extinct volcano which was the base for the guerilla movement during the past armed conflict, but today is a beautiful and peaceful area with impressive landscapes. We organize guided hikes or horse back trips to this area.

 

Cozy villages:

Close to the hotel there are picturesque villages such as Tonacatepeque and Guazapa which are perfect for an interesting half day trip. They have colonial churches, typical market places and a cozy atmosphere. You can reach them within 30 minutes by public transport.

In our ecological restaurant La Posada de John Paul, we offer breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a variety of organic agricultural and natural products.
